Stay in your lane!

Now there are [distinctive] varieties of spiritual gifts [special abilities given by the grace and extraordinary power of the Holy Spirit operating in believers], but it is the same Spirit [who grants them and empowers believers]. And there are [distinctive] varieties of ministries and service, but it is the same Lord [who is served].

And there are [distinctive] ways of working [to accomplish things], but it is the same God who produces all things in all believers [inspiring, energizing, and empowering them]. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit [the spiritual illumination and the enabling of the Holy Spirit] for the common good.

It is pertinent for me to state here that our primary calling is to follow God and be in unity with Him. It is the essence of a person’s being and doing. To walk in His ways and showcase the magnitude of His power in our everyday lives.

Secondly, God has called us to work, to contribute our own quota to the growth, development and sustenance of this ecosystem we have been placed in. We ought to work in the capacity we have been given. Everyone cannot do the same thing.

The beauty of creation is the unity in our diversity. The ability for us to do different things and still function as one. It can be likened to the various parts of a motor vehicle. All screwed and joined together to produce a working car. Different functions, one goal.

We do not do things because every other person is doing it but because God has called us to it.

It is easy to feel left out and useless because every other person seem to be riding on a high wave.

We begin to feel we are not doing enough or making impact like everyone else.

To stay in your lane might look insignificant side by side with the flashing cameras and never ending picture of glitz and glamour around you and shoved in your face but that couldn’t be any further from the truth. We have only one goal in life, to do as the Almighty wills and as far as He is pleased with you, what you do is very significant regardless of what you are being told or shown.

If you are called to be a stay -at-home mom and raise your children, do it to the best of your ability. You are equally impacting the world for well trained children becomes useful in the society tomorrow.

You don’t have to stand on a pulpit and preach to thousands of people before you can walk in your purpose. That children class, sunday school lessons you are leading is equally productive and inpactful to the lives of the people sitting under your teaching no matter how few they are.

If you are not called to be an entrepreneur, don’t abandon your 9-5 job to follow the crowd. Do your job proudly. Put in your best and love it.

God blesses us with diverse gifts. Some of us are builders while the others are supporters. We just have to know our path and stick to it.

And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.

Titus 3:14 KJV

If you are called to be a businessman, go for it and you will excel in it.

No position in life is insignificant as long as it positively affects the life of someone else. In the bible, the healing of Naaman wouldn’t have been possible without the slave girl who told him of prophet Elisha. She wasn’t Queen Esther, Prophetess Deborah or Hulda but in her limited capacity, God used her.

Don’t pray for God to use you like Martin Luther, Billy Graham, Apostle Paul or Peter. Pray for Him to use you as He made you to be.

It is dangerous to leave your lane as you will miss the mark and run into problems. A runner knows better than to leave the lane mapped out for him/her. Two things can happen- Either the athlete runs into another athlete and cause a collision or gets disqualified from the race.

We are all on a race in this world to get to the finish point so we must endeavour to run well on our lane.

Never allow society pressure you into a path because it sounds like the ‘in thing’. Recognize your gifts, walk in your purpose and stay in your lane. You have something the world needs. Use it.

In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously.

If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

Romans 12:6‭-‬8 NLT

I am fully comvinced if you are on your destiny path, no matter where you are, doors of opportunity will open unto you. All you have to do is focus on your strengths and giftings.

Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.

Galatians 6:4 NLT

How can you contribute your quota through work? Let us know in the comments.

Stay blessed.

You are loved💚💛💜
