Focus on the big picture (Walk in purpose)

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Matthew‬ ‭5:14, 16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What is Purpose and what has it got to do with our daily lives?

The significance of purpose in our daily lives is pervasive. In most conversation about business, career, family, social relations, and you live life, the purpose is key.

Common questions like, what is the purpose of this meeting?

Why do you read newspapers every day?

Why are you getting an education?

What is the significance of being married?

Why are you working?

Why don’t you work?

It is basically asking why we do the things we do. The reason for a particular course of action.

The purpose is needed in daily conversations, interaction, actions and activities.

A good understanding of purpose will result in effective and productive living. If all actions are assessed through the lens of purpose, the tendency to make the best use of opportunities that come our way and the possibilities of making the right decisions will be enhanced.

It is imperative to run our actions through purpose vis-a-vis cost-benefit analysis.

It is a guiding rule of life which if imbibed will result in improved productivity, passionate and engaging life. As we make better use of our time; efficient use of resources and ultimately actualisation of goal? It enables you to stay true to your core values and never will any fickle wind of doctrine/emulations toss you around. A person of purpose won’t take on other peoples priority and make it theirs.

Why do you want to do this or that? What footprints do you intend to leave behind when gone? How do you intend to contribute to the world, nation, community and family? Or be a positive influence to everyone whom you come across what stories will people tell about you or will there be any at all?

This leads me back to the verse above

What is God’s purpose for our lives? To be conformed to the image of Christ and be the light of the world.

This is His purpose- that we may project Christ in every field we find ourselves in. We do not exist to live in a continual state of lethargy loathing each day we wake up and being in a constant state of feeling stuck.

He has a purpose bigger than our imagination and daily activities. Every single thing we do is all working towards a common good. To show forth His righteousness.

How can you be the light of the world? Simple- Discover your giftings. It will pave the path for you. As you utilise your gift, you live a purpose-driven life.

It is dreadful to have the feeling of ’something missing’. Every day becomes a drag. The questions pile up and the haze of confusion thickens.

Only we tend to focus on materialistic questions to clear this haze but all the money in the world won’t make anyone happy if there is no sense of fulfilment. We have to find the fire within us.

My friend, it will be like switching on the light in your life, For you, your family, friends… everybody who means something significant to you and even strangers you are yet to meet will benefit from your brave move. It will be an epiphany.

This will prove to be a total life booster. You will enter a new world, and you, my dear, shall be at last the centre of it!

This walkway is unique to you. This makes you so special. No one else can do it exactly the way you can. It is God’s design we flourish in His purpose and live fulfilled.

How can you discover life purpose?

What is the one thing you can enjoy doing for hours without being forced to do? It is true we sometimes need the discipline to work out our goals but there are vocations that come naturally to you which with minimal push, you excel.

When I was younger, I wrote poems and stories, loved dancing and anything music. It gave me so much pleasure. Up till now, whenever I feel overwhelmed, I dance and my spirit gets uplifted. I also loved reading the Bible. I also loved manufacturing and speaking. So now, when I got stuck in what I really needed to do, I go back to think about what excited me in my childhood.

To truly take up your sceptre of power, be ready to be vulnerable and be rid of the ’herd mentality’ as great things are unique and unconventional. Many will not understand but don’t worry. You don’t need them to.

You may be thinking of quitting your job and going in search of passion, hold that thought. You could find purpose in whatever you str going now do far it showcases Christ.

What is your purpose?

What are you doing with your life now? Are you spending more time ticking off a trivial list or you are making an investment in your path?

Except you want your headstone to read, ’Here lay a great man/woman who binged watched all tv-series and browsed social media on other times while snacking on a pack of Pringles, know your destiny and let it define your true path so you can lead others to the light.

Meditate on this verse-

“There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.”

Proverbs‬ ‭19:21‬ ‭KJV

Stay blessed.

You are loved.💙💜💚

Thank you for this thought provoking post. It is good to reminded that our ultimate purpose is to be more Christ like and point others to Jesus. We should not forget that in the nitty gritty of daily life.
Love the part where you say that the tombstone reading should not be binge watching shows, scrolling social meadow and eating Pringle’s 😆

“What is God’s purpose for our lives? To be conformed to the image of Christ and be the light of the world.” Amen- not necessarily, as the world might think, “to be happy”. As an old catechism says (in my paraphrase)- “the meaning of life is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever” 🙂 Thanks for the post!

Thank you so much for this. I have and continue to struggle defining my purpose in life. I loved it when you said that a person of purpose has no time or desire to pick up other peoples priorities and make them their own. I’m encouraged to live on purpose, blinkered to that which will take me away from perpetually doing what I love. x

Utmost, we can’t afford to live our lives without His purpose as our aim. If not we will be like an athlete running on another person’s track.
May we not live a wasted life!. Amen.

*We ought stay in our God lane”

Because of these challenging days where religion has become a heated subject to discuss, I have made it my purpose to spread the message of love, kindness, gratefulness, peace, and friendship.
    It is HIS beautiful message.
Happy Monday. Wishing you an inspiring week.
    God bless you.
