You can be healed

“Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,

who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

Psalm‬ ‭103:2-3, 5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This is a very sensitive topic as there was a time I struggled with acceptance. Yes, I knew God heals. Christ was afflicted that we might receive healing. But I wasn’t sure I could be healed, my conviction was shaky not because I don’t believe in divine healing but for the fact I wasn’t sure my faith could carry it so the first thing I do whenever I see any sign of illness is to go to the hospital.

Nothing wrong with this as a matter of fact but I have always felt I could do more. That there was more.

Meanwhile, I have been struggling with my vision for 8 years and recently it got worse (I am not sure but wearing the medicated lens contributed also) and it became difficult to make blog posts as I couldn’t look at my screen for a long time to preserve my eyes.

It continued to degenerate in spite of the loads and loads of supplements and drugs I was consuming. Until one day, my brother heard me complain of pain asked me if I have prayed about it. It struck me because I realised I have never really talked to God about it but done every other thing (Panic, cry, complain). Ignorantly, I had managed to relegate God to the background and have never brought him in or specifically asked for the restoration of my eyes. I let my possession as a covenant child lie dormant.

Following the discussion with my brother, I became intentional about requesting for my healing. I wasn’t praying for God to heal me. No. He has done that already through Jesus, rather I claimed my healing using scriptures as my foundation. Christ had borne my afflictions, his body broken so I can be whole mind body and soul. So I was standing on the Solid rock and taking what was already mine.

Guess what? After my first week of intentional prayer, there were drastic changes. It wasn’t necessary anymore to use my glasses to read as often as I did before. I could write my blog post( I am writing this, aren’t I) and do my other activities without pain. What prayer can do! I have embarked on the path of total recovery as I believe my vision would be fully restored in due time but for now, I am grateful for all the remarkable changes.

I realize many don’t believe in divine healing. They read about it, cheer up the works of Christ but have not truly taken His word into their hearts and made it the truth. Only when the truth comes alive in your heart can it set you free because the truth is power. What is the truth? It is the word of God and His word says we are children of the new covenant, divine health is our covenant right. Jesus went about healing those who were afflicted in their bodies. He wouldn’t have bothered if it was not a crucial part of His ministry.

God made His word plain to us and the of His word cannot be broken.

This is his redemptive plan for us. It is His will that we might have life and have it abundantly. All our sickness was laid on Him at the cross so we can have health.

My point is, healing from that sickness that is afflicting you is possible. God can heal any terminal illness -cancer, transform debilitating conditions and even emotional sickness.

You might be thinking ’ uh oh’ my case is different. I am not sure about this. My illness has no hope of relief. Pause!

Understand this, Nobody is too far gone for Him to intervene. Lazarus was raised from the dead. What were you saying again?

“The Lord sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness.”

Psalm‬ ‭41:3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

It is never too late for Him to step in. I love how JAMES 5:15 puts it -the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well.

The ball lies in your court now. Are you ready to swim against the tides? Do you believe you can find healing in Jesus name? I understand you might have prayed over again for your healing and have decided to accept It as your fate. I know it is hard to think faith when pain plagues your mind, body and soul. You might be wondering, ’would I ever be healed?’

But I want to encourage you, wipe your tears. dust off your mat, step into the secret place and claim what is yours -Divine healing. It can be yours backed with the faith to believe you have been made whole.

I implore you to stand in the place of faith and claim good health. Healing for your body, soul and mind. Onwards, make it purposeful. Search the Bible for scriptures on divine healing. Read them every day and proclaim your healing. If possible, write the verses on little notes and paste it around your living space, car and work area. So you can be physically reminded of where you are going.

Let not the wind of doubts uproot your seed before it starts germinating. Trust me, this may even be the period you will experience intense pain or worse symptoms because the devil will do anything to disband you and make you lose faith. Stand firm. Hold fast to your faith. Don’t trade it for fear. You can do this!

Never try to figure out God or His ways with human reasoning. He can go beyond and over your biggest imagination. God has redeemed us from the throes of death and He can give you a new body if only you believe in your heart.

Have you prayed about it today?

Pray with me;

Dear Father, We humbly come before you and ask that you take away every bone of affliction that may have caused pain. It is been there long enough and now is the time for total restoration. We pray that your surge of power move through our bodies and renew every maligned cell, fix broken bones and repair dead systems. It is your will that we have good health so we claim this position in the name of Jesus. We say no more shall we be downtrodden by diseases and sickness. From now henceforth, we walk in total healing.

Now begin to visualize yourself doing what you couldn’t do before. Hold this picture in your mind. Carry it with you everywhere and every day. Don’t listen to symptoms. You have been made whole. What you see in your body now doesn’t matter but what the healing you have received. Bear in mind, Drastic outcomes requires radical faith.

Meditate on this;

“When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. This was to fulfil what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭8:16-17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you,”

Exodus‬ ‭23:25‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.”

James‬ ‭5:15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Stay blessed

You are loved 💙💜💚

very touching but enlightening post… because of challenges people lose faith in healing, but anyone can receive miracles or be healed even after ages of challenges: the blind man at the pool, the man blind from birth, the man possessed of demons; the man with palsy, etc, etc… I still face challenges but never cease to continue to believe… keep up the faith, and keep posting…

I believe in healing. God’s healed me of mental illness. But I also know that my most serious condition is my sin sickness- and God’s healed me of that too. I also know that however much I may have faith in God to heal me, it remains His decision whether to or not. After all, we’ll all die of something if Christ doesn’t return first!

Hallelujah! Praise God for His healing. I have a few questions, how can God choose not to heal when He purchased our healing on the cross?
Were the stripes He bore not enough to take away infirmities or was it for certain persons?
It is His decision because it is His will to heal us.
There is no deficiency in His convenant promise.
Remember, the only time someone wasn’t healed in the scripture was when the disciples prayed for them.
Jesus healed all who came to Him. He is the embodiment of the perfect will.

We cannot box the integrity of the scripture to our level of experience. Where the scriptures is concerned, experience does not matter because you can only experience something you have knowledge of.
God wants us to be well.
Yes, we would all die someday but not until you may have fulfilled your God’s purpose and not cut short.

It is not God’s will for anyone to perish and healing is a finished work of the cross.

I could go on but let me stop here. It is not ’up to God’ alone. We have a responsibility too.

Thank you for your contribution. God bless you 💕💕💕

God doesn’t owe healing to us, in fact, if we got what we’re entitled to, we’d be in hell. God allowed satan to afflict Job. He even gave Paul a thorn in the flesh that even prayer couldn’t remove. Godly Christians get ill and fall asleep in Christ every day- that’s not because they lack faith or because God can’t heal.

If God always and unconditionally heals his people physically, why don’t Christians live forever physically?

We don’t know what the thorn in Paul flesh was. No one can say it was illness. What is the finished work of Christ for every believer? God doesn’t owe us because He has given it to us at the cross.
Yes, Satan afflicted Job but God restored him.
Not everyone may get healed. We live in a fallen world so things have not been made perfect yet. When Christ comes, all things will be made perfect.
Yes, God always and unconditionally heals His people. The scriptures say so.
We cannot live forever because Christ has not returned.
There would always be unanswered questions but experiences can never trump the Scriptures.

Great post. I have seen healing through prayer. God loves us and wants us to thrive. We often put roadblocks in His way by doubt, unforgiveness, or just not praying for healing. James 5:14 encourages healing prayer in churches. I am blessed to be part of that – we have monthly healing prayer services open to everyone.
