Where are you?

“When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees. Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”

Genesis‬ ‭3:8-9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

At a time everything was good, God had placed Adam in charge of everything and even blessed him with a mate. Life could not have been better for Adam until this moment. Adam, in a moment of poor judgement, committed the singular act that altered his life forever.

According to the above verse, God came by, in His usual manner, I would like to think of it as a regular conversational time with the man He made in His image but this time around, Adam was nowhere to be found. And God sought him.

Was the All-Knowing clueless of Adam’s whereabouts? Definitely not!

The all-knowing God knew where Adam was so what was the necessity of this question?

Adam, burdened by the realization of his mistake, felt no longer worthy of the presence of God and hid from Him. He might have been physically present in the garden but his heart was no longer on God. it had drifted away. so God was simply asking, where is your heart, Adam? You are no longer with Me.

And just like Adam, we let the guilt of sin make us feel unworthy of going before God in prayer. The previous verse said, they suddenly felt shame and had to hide from the presence of God. God never turns His face away from us, it is the feeling of guilt and dirtiness that stands between our communion with God.

In our lowest moments are times we run into the arms of God and not away from Him.

That you lost your temper 5minutes ago won’t make God stop loving. Shut down the accuser’s voice.

The devil knows the love of the Father is limitless and cannot change because of our mistakes. but he won’t let us see this.

he will constantly bring pictures of all the wrong things you have done in life and tell you how unworthy you are of anything good. He hits you relentlessly knowing he would have you once you give in.

Truly, a child may try to hide from his father from his earthly father after committing an offence because he is certain he is angry and may not love him anymore but our relationship with God is different. He would not turn us away in our mess and guess what? He will always love you.

It is good to have a moment of regret and remorse but don’t linger there too long. We can always receive His mercy and forgiveness.

“But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”

1 John‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

What can separate you from the love of God?

Nothing except self-condemnation. We are Bound by Grace, not guilt!

God loves us unconditionally and no matter how muddy the swamp may be, He is willing to take us out and wash us clean. There is no ocean he won’t swim or mountain he won’t climb to get to us.

He left the 99 to go after the 1. This is saying, you are priceless, the cross made you so. I need you to come back to me, into my shelter and find your rest there.

I don’t condemn you, you should not condemn you too. Cast those cares on me, the pain, the regret, the shame, the bitterness, the abuse, lay it all on me. I would bear it for you. This is why I love you. To be the arm you lean on when the ground is sinking. To be the hands to wipe your tears when they won’t stop falling. what breaks your hearts breaks mine too. You are a part of me.

Come to me, oh Child, and cast all these cares on me because I care for you.

Forgive yourself because God has forgiven you. Let go of the grudge you bear against you. Sometimes, it may seem easier to forgive others faster than we do ourselves.

Try not to be hard on you. Mistakes don’t define you. Your past failed relationship doesn’t mean you can’t have a successful one now.

If you said some things you shouldn’t have said, it is okay. It is a temporary lapse in judgement. Learn from it and move on. Please never entertain the lies of the devil.

God knows we are imperfect but He loves us just the way we are. Someday we would be made perfect in Him so this is a journey of growth. We are not worthy in ourselves but Grace found us. Grace changed everything. Now we can no longer say we are undeserving of anything but we revel in this unmerited favour we have in God. No offence or mistake is too big to be covered by His grace.

Dear Friend, where are you? in His presence or drifting away from Him? Though your sins may be as scarlet, He has redeemed you. Come back to Him.

I pray for you, you come to know the depth and width of His love for you.

“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”

Hebrews‬ ‭4:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Stay Blessed

You are loved. 💙💜💚

Our great Father will always forgive us if we truly repent. He is all forgiving. That is part of his greatness.

When one frees himself from guilt. Being hard on oneself often keeps one from achieving other goals we truly desire. Forgiving oneself, is one of the first steps towards happiness.

Have a blessed week. Thank you for sharing this wise and interesting post.
