“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever. In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”
Psalms 118:1, 5-6 NLT
14th February 2020
It had been a really long day. I had gone to work, prepared documents and by the time the day was over, I was exhausted. When I got home, I didn’t waste much time in showering and getting into bed. I was hungry but didn’t have the energy to cook. The next day would be a Friday, Valentine’s day, so I spent a little time online reading up stories of love celebration and all. It wasn’t long before I dozed off. Then I heard a noise, so I opened my eyes, only to wake up to the vision of a sinister face.
At first, I thought I was dreaming. So I tried to go back to sleep but my mum’s voice kept urging me to wake up when I finally cleared the fog off my eyes, Io and behold, there was a Silhouette figure standing right at the centre of the room walking towards my bed. Immediately, I jumped right out of bed. How did you get in? how did you get in, I screamed! I looked at the clock, it was 1:30am
I was too shocked to be afraid. And incredibly, the Intruder seemed transfixed to a spot until I could call the police. I don’t know how that happened. But thinking back, it could have only been God who made it happen.
Do you know what guys? That same day, I got a call that brought me goodnews. So the devil had seen this coming and rushed beforehand to try to defile me, to break my Spirit and to nullify my testimony. But Abba Father came through for me. The intruder, in a later confession to the police, said he felt a force restrain him and he was unable to lay his hands on me.
After the incident, For the first 2 weeks, I couldn’t sleep well. Would jumpstart during the night at the slightest noise. My lights were always turned on. sleeping in the dark was out of the question.
But look at me now, I sleep very well and turn off the lights. God has taken away the fear. He delivered me from the lingering image of that incident. my great deliverer indeed. Initially, I couldn’t bring myself to share this testimony. as it would require a certain level of vulnerability and openness. I also didn’t want any misinterpretation. However, my silence would be a disservice to the miracle that happened in my house that night. People need to know that God is real and is still in the business of rescue and safety.
Pray too, that we will be rescued from wicked and evil people, for not everyone is a believer.
But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.
2Thesslonians 3:2-3 NLT
Father loves me. Sometimes I feel He loves me specially. He spoils me and I don’t deserve it.
God is good. It may not look obvious to you now but I assure you, if you peep closely within and around you, you will discover ways God have been good to you. ,
So today, with my heart bursting with gratitude and joy, all I can say is Thank You Father!
Thank you for looking out for me in my most vulnerable moments. Thank you for not giving me more than I can handle. Thank you for keeping me as the apple of your eye. Thank you for your goodness overflowing in my life. Thank You for averting the wicked plans of the enemy. Thank for your overwhelming love. Thank You Abba Father. Thank You my refuge of safety.
“I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods. I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name.”
Psalms 138:1-2 NLT
“Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds. Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the Lord.”
Psalms 105:1-3 NLT
Finally Dear Friends, I implore you, please take a minute and write down in the comments what God has done for you. I assure you, you would have the words to pen down.
If you think little of what God has done for you, you will do very little for him; but if you have a great notion of his great mercy to you, you will be greatly grateful to your gracious God.” (Spurgeon)
