A night I would never forget!

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever. In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭118:1, 5-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

14th February 2020

It had been a really long day. I had gone to work, prepared documents and by the time the day was over, I was exhausted. When I got home, I didn’t waste much time in showering and getting into bed. I was hungry but didn’t have the energy to cook. The next day would be a Friday, Valentine’s day, so I spent a little time online reading up stories of love celebration and all. It wasn’t long before I dozed off. Then I heard a noise, so I opened my eyes, only to wake up to the vision of a sinister face.

At first, I thought I was dreaming. So I tried to go back to sleep but my mum’s voice kept urging me to wake up when I finally cleared the fog off my eyes, Io and behold, there was a Silhouette figure standing right at the centre of the room walking towards my bed. Immediately, I jumped right out of bed. How did you get in? how did you get in, I screamed! I looked at the clock, it was 1:30am

I was too shocked to be afraid. And incredibly, the Intruder seemed transfixed to a spot until I could call the police. I don’t know how that happened. But thinking back, it could have only been God who made it happen.

Do you know what guys? That same day, I got a call that brought me goodnews. So the devil had seen this coming and rushed beforehand to try to defile me, to break my Spirit and to nullify my testimony. But Abba Father came through for me. The intruder, in a later confession to the police, said he felt a force restrain him and he was unable to lay his hands on me.

After the incident, For the first 2 weeks, I couldn’t sleep well. Would jumpstart during the night at the slightest noise. My lights were always turned on. sleeping in the dark was out of the question.

Psalm. 34:4

But look at me now, I sleep very well and turn off the lights. God has taken away the fear. He delivered me from the lingering image of that incident. my great deliverer indeed. Initially, I couldn’t bring myself to share this testimony. as it would require a certain level of vulnerability and openness. I also didn’t want any misinterpretation. However, my silence would be a disservice to the miracle that happened in my house that night. People need to know that God is real and is still in the business of rescue and safety.

Pray too, that we will be rescued from wicked and evil people, for not everyone is a believer.

But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.

2Thesslonians 3:2-3 NLT

Father loves me. Sometimes I feel He loves me specially. He spoils me and I don’t deserve it.

God is good. It may not look obvious to you now but I assure you, if you peep closely within and around you, you will discover ways God have been good to you. ,

So today, with my heart bursting with gratitude and joy, all I can say is Thank You Father!

Thank you for looking out for me in my most vulnerable moments. Thank you for not giving me more than I can handle. Thank you for keeping me as the apple of your eye. Thank you for your goodness overflowing in my life. Thank You for averting the wicked plans of the enemy. Thank for your overwhelming love. Thank You Abba Father. Thank You my refuge of safety.

“I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods. I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭138:1-2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds. Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the Lord.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭105:1-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Finally Dear Friends, I implore you, please take a minute and write down in the comments what God has done for you. I assure you, you would have the words to pen down.

If you think little of what God has done for you, you will do very little for him; but if you have a great notion of his great mercy to you, you will be greatly grateful to your gracious God.” (Spurgeon)

Blessings.

Love,

Angel💙💛💚

Wow! What an experience. The intruder felt a force restrain him- that just gave me chills. Praise God that you are safe and well and able to sleep now without fear. May the Lord continue to keep His mighty hand of protection upon you.

When my first marriage ended, I left the ministry. I was broken. But God allowed me to meet a wonderful woman, who later became my wife, and He restored me to a new ministry as a teacher of children.

My own children were young when my first wife and I separated, and I worried about their future—I was no longer physically present to be their dad. But one day God gave me this verse:

“All your sons will be taught by the Lord, and great will be your children’s peace.” Isaiah 54:13

Today, my children are all grown and still in God’s hands, and I just finished my 16th year of teaching!

To God be the glory. He saved my soul AND my life. Thank you for being brave enough to share your story.

    Blessings. David

28 likes (so far) and no one yet has shared what God has done for them–like you suggested. I did, earlier, but I guess it’s lost in cyberspace. Perhaps this comment will get through: I owe God my life–literally.

What a scary thing to have happen to you. “I Spy God” at work in protecting you from harm, and also in restoring peace to your heart.

Yesterday I found myself more than a little anxious…mostly concerned about my own forgetfulness, especially in light of my family history of Alzheimer’s. Last night, as I laid in bed waiting for sleep to arrive, I prayed about each item of concern. As I prayed, I named each worry and concern and told the Lord I was laying that concern at His feet. He gave his beloved child sleep and peace.

Thank you for sharing, Angel, and for encouraging your readers to share too.

Wow. The restrain could have only been from God. Thank you for sharing this testimony sis.

I have many testimonies. But there was a particular day I was struggling with “what next” it seemed like my life has been on a rest mode for a long time and I really wanted to get to what next and move on. And from one thought to another, I became very unsettled and that gave me away. I battled through it. But I remember when I got past this struggle (maintaining a clear mind) that I heard Him clearly, stating “I prayed for you”.

That made me smile till I teared. Thank God we have an intercessor in Him, interceding for us in our weaknesses.

I’m dealing with a relative who is difficult- the Lord continues to show me that in this season, He’s concerned about my character development and not so much my “feelings.” He’s reminding me to walk by faith and not by sight.
