-God our Sustenance-

“Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the harvest] nor gather [the crops] into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they?”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:26‬ ‭AMP‬‬

To sustain means to comfort, strengthen and support physically and Spiritually.

This is what the Father has promised us. Sustenance devoid of worries or troubles.

One of the reasons people get angry at or frustrated with God is that they hold him to promises He never made. They expect that anytime difficulties arise, God should come take them out of it immediately. While God wants us satisfied always, trials make our faith stronger. God necessarily may not be the source of your trials but He can bestow upon you the necessary life skills to come out victorious. God can either deliver us out of a strait corner or sustain us through it.

Though I walk through the valley of shadow of death, I would fear no evil. You are with me.

With everything going on in the world now, many are facing a lot of uncertainties about what the future holds. Many have lost loved ones and are thrown into a state of despair.

As humans, we are programmed to plan, We live in tomorrow today, trying to figure out how our lives would play out. How we would meet up responsibilities. make payments before the deadline. Where our next paycheck would come from or where the next meal would come from.

It is easy to look into the bleakness of prevailing circumstance and conclude we are disadvantaged, to worry that there is no future. Dearly Beloved, Pause it right there!

The future is in God’s hands. Tomorrow morning may bring joy and even a miracle (Psalm 30:5), for his mercies are new every morning and nothing is impossible with God (Lamentations 3:22–23; Luke 1:37).

When you feel you can’t keep going forward, recollect your testimony of His faithfulness, think back to the days God has helped you. He did it before and He would do it again. Draw strength from the well of living waters and Keep moving forward.

Elijah was hiding out from the wrath of King Ahab. He had just given him a prophecy of doom. And Ahab sought to kill him. While In hiding, God never left Elijah alone. He provided him with food and water from the most unlikely source. And not only did God provide for Elijah in his season of abandonment, but He also made him a blessing to another person in a faraway land. God intends not just to sustain us but to make us channels of blessings. To model our lives to be a testimony of His goodness. That People would be drawn to the faithfulness of God in our lives and through it would come to know of Christ.

Jesus taught us how to live by teaching this model of prayer, “Give us this day our daily bread” (Matthew 6:11). God will meet our needs today. His grace is available for today. We are not to be anxious about the future, or even tomorrow, for every day has its own trouble (Matthew 6:34).

The widow of Zapherath had given up. She was out to gather sticks to make the last supper for her and her son. As far as she was concerned, tomorrow was hopeless. But God, the One who looks upon the affairs of men, had a different plan for her. He made provisions for her even before she could see it.

“Cast your burden on the LORD [release it] and He will sustain and uphold you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken (slip, fall, fail).”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭55:22‬ ‭AMP‬‬

I am learning to lean deeper into Jehovah Jireh. When I have a need, I go to Him first. Sit in His presence. It brings me peace. I gain better clarity and He provides a solution. Worship shifts the focus from whatever chaos going on around me to what truly matters. To the love of the eternal Rock of Ages. And once my heart is unburdened, then I can properly hear Him and receive what He has for me. I also get to know if He desires me to tarry a little longer in the valley. Because though it might not fully make sense, His desire for me is better than what I can ever want for myself.

Your life matters. Your feelings matters. Your experience matters. ABBA Father loves you. He is proud of you. Of how you have handled things so far. You experienced anguish but you kept your faith in Him.

God is not a man that He would lie neither can He go back on His words. And He has said to us, I am your Keeper. I am your Sustainer. I am your Shelter. I am your comfort. Come to me. Lay your worries at my feet. I know you are hurting. I see your tears and hear your groanings. Rest in the warmth of my love. I would take care of you. I would fill your craving. Trust me, my Child. I am the God of your struggle.

This is a phase. The situation would get better. We are children of light. Darkness cannot dim our light. We are unbecoming fear to become a possibility. We are shedding off worn-out layers of limitation, heartache, anxiety to break out into purpose. We are stepping out from the corridors of grumbling into the altar of praise.

Align your heart with Him. Seek the kingdom and find solace in Him alone. Except God to provide for you in the way He deems fit, from unexpected sources.

“But godliness actually is a source of great gain when accompanied by contentment [that contentment which comes from a sense of inner confidence based on the sufficiency of God].

But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6:6, 8‬ ‭AMP‬‬

We have all we need in God. In this, we would be confident. He gave us a promise and He is abundantly able to take care of us. He would meet you at the point of your need. Father would sustain you. In His name and by the power of His love, We have overcome!

Pray with me,

Father, we thank You for who You are. We would testify of your faithfulness all day long. Open our eyes to see You are right here with us. Help us to understand that your love and grace is there for us. Give us the wisdom to navigate the times. Help us grow in the knowledge of You day after day. Nudge us to always run into the fortress of your peace. And enable us to receive the supplies you have provided for us through Christ by faith. In Jesus Name!.

“The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your life.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭121:5-7‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“Wait for and confidently expect the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for and confidently expect the LORD.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Stay Blessed

You are Loved💙💛💚

He is indeed our sustenance. The widow of Zapherath – that story of God making provisions for her before she even knew it- that always gets to me. We tie our hopefulness to what is tangible but God is working for our good always whether we can see it or not.
    Blessings 💙

Amen. Maintaining a posture of trust is key. We are currently surrounded by many uncertainties but we know that He is for us. And He is always certain – He is ever-present with us, as our rock. 🙌
