“I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.”
Psalms 34:4-5 NLT
I had poured so much work into a project but on the long run, things began to go awry. So I spent days in worry. I don’t know. I tried hard to trust but the fear of what would happen if it didn’t go the way I hoped consumed me.
From antagonising myself for certain decisions to panic. I just couldn’t get a grip.
Fast forward to now, the issues were sorted plus the ones I didn’t see. And all the worst fears my mind had cooked up didn’t materialize.
Now I whip myself up for wasting time worrying. Such a tiresome cycle. For the life of me, I couldn’t understand why my brain chose to dwell on the worst-case scenario rather than the best that could happen.
And the Holy Spirit pointed out to me of how ’me consciousness ’ was ruling my life. He reminded me of the friend we had to share our burdens with but still worry our brains away. The realization of this brought me to my knees. I bowed my head in repentance. I repented of pushing God aside and not depending on Him. I repented of ever thinking I was alone in those times and for not acknowledging the commitment of the Father to me.
For this is the time I should have cast my cares on Him and let Him take care of it. Looking back, there has never been a time God didn’t come through for me. My panic was pointless.
“When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.”
Isaiah 43:2 NLT
When a situation is out of our control, it remains in His control. And this is where we step aside and let Him step in. We can bank on His promises always.
“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!”
Isaiah 26:3 NLT
We pray, hand over our concerns and leave it at His feet. We can’t go taking it back whenever as it shows we do not trust in the ability of God to turn situations around for us. We allow fear control our hearts and fear sits at the root of worry.
It is human nature to fear the unknown but we have dominion over the flesh. We can choose what to allow or reject. Jesus is not a liar. If Jesus knew that the command “do not be afraid” was impossible, He would not have asked us to do it—yet this is exactly what He commanded. Think of all the peace we would have, the milestones we would gain if fear didn’t get in the way.
But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.”
Psalms 56:3 NLT
Perfect love cast out fear. let the truth permeate our heart at all times and keep it from fear. Fear of the future, fear of failure, Fear of loneliness, fear of death. Let it go.
“I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.”
Psalms 34:4 NLT
God has answers for us—good answers, dependable answers—and there is a way to live in peaceful freedom from our fears. It is a journey of total surrender in which God draws nearer than He has ever been before. If we relinquish control and in the midst of our fears, we still choose to persist at the foot of the cross until God holds us up, then we will find the everlasting peace and hope that our souls so desperately desire.
In the well of uncertainty, run deeper into Him. Find solace there. If things are tough, lean on God. Take cue from these words.
Because His love is upon us, we will not be destroyed.
We wake up every single morning with new hope.
God’s compassions will never fail us.
God’s faithfulness is boundless.
The Lord is our portion, and He will sustain us.
When we wait on Him, He will show up.
Abba is good to those who hope in Him.
This year might not have been as we planned… It can be better. He has brought us this far. We can depend on Him.
“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.”
Psalms 23:4 NLT
“They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them.”
Psalms 112:7 NLT
“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.””
Joshua 1:9 NLT
Stay blessed

God spoke to my heart—through His word and yours—through so many points you made here, Angel!
Two of my favorites are: “fear is at the root of worry,” and “panic is pointless.”
Thank you also for sharing your own personal experience with needless worry, as now is a time when many are facing challenges—due to the pandemic.
God’s riches blesses be upon you.🙏 Thank you for your blog ministry!

You are welcome Angel.
Thank you for asking, I am well thank you. Just had family at home last week and so did not get much time for in depth bible study. Did not want to put up a post just for the sake of it. So decided to skip one week. I will be posting this week 🙂.
Thanks again for asking, it makes a difference 🤗.
