-Knowing God our Father-.

“Bad as you are, you know how to give good things to your children. How much more, then, will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:11‬ ‭GNB‬‬

I still remember that fateful day like it was yesterday. Not because I haven’t had other outstanding testimonies happen for me but how it happened.

It was in the second year of my undergraduate program. Around this time, I was a bit unsettled and so tried to manage as much as I could.

One day, I came back from lectures and discovered I had no food at home nor foodstuffs to cook with. worst of it was there was no cash available to buy anything. It also happened to be a weekend so even if someone sends me money, I can’t get it till Monday.

I sat on the floor debating whether to go ask my neighbour for food after all she was cooking and had invited me earlier on.

This wasn’t me. I was shy and wasn’t cool with it therefore I decided I wouldn’t go. I instead laid on the floor. After a while. I knelt and said a simple prayer, Father, please you know I cannot beg for money or food. I need this amount to keep me for the weekend and I am begging you to do it. I don’t know how but I am willing to trust and even if it doesn’t come, I would rather sit here in hunger.

I laid there quiet as hunger won’t even let me sleep, a knock sounded on my door, reluctantly, I answered and saw a friend standing there. He had come to give me some money to keep for him which he would collect at the end of the semester as he didn’t want to be tempted to spend.

Friends, can you believe the sum he gave me was exactly what I had asked God for.

Then I thought maybe I should have asked for more.

It took me a while to wrap it around my head. How did it happen? It was the exact sum. At the right time. this can only be God.

I knew I would have money to replace it before the stipulated time because my parents would send me money the following week and I can deduct his from it.

That was the day I was truly convinced that Father is so close to us.. He hears. He answers. He delivers. He saves.

Fear of tomorrow stems from our lack of complete trust in the Fatherhood of God. It is a major reason we run the wrong way because we don’t trust Him. we don’t think something good can happen for us if we don’t beat ourselves over.

Father would never leave nor forsake us. There is a consciousness of His Fatherhood that we need to rise to. We must come to a place where the storms cannot stir our calm. We must come to know His Fatherhood is our safe place.

The word father describes one who gives life or who creates, originates, exemplifies or founds something. We each have a physical father who gave us life.

Sadly, many people have had very negative experiences with their physical fathers—sometimes due to abuse, neglect, absence or other circumstances.

God the Father, on the other hand, is the source of truth and love John 17:17. The gospel brought by Jesus Christ reveals another crucial message about fatherhood and God’s role in our lives. The gospel reveals how, through repentance, baptism and the receiving of God’s Holy Spirit.

God Almighty can become our Father in a real and personal way. He becomes our Father, and we become His begotten children when we are spiritually converted. Romans 8:14 tells us, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”

God the Father craves to have a close, “father-child” relationship with us. Paul wrote that God’s Spirit allows us to address the Father as “Abba, Father” Romans 8:15. Father doesn’t want us to see Him as someone distant, cold and impersonal. He wants an upclose and personal relationship with us so we can recognize His gentle concern and desire to bless us.

Philippians 4:19, the Lord shall supply all my needs… God knows you have bills to pay. He knows you need to eat. He knows where you are right now. He knows about the plans and problems. He is working. Putting things together for you. He knows what we need at every stage and has made provision.

Our needs are secured in him. I don’t care how long I have to say it but I keep repeating the scripture until it sticks. God is not a man. He watches over me. My needs are taken care of. All I have to do is trust. Your account balance doesn’t matter. God knows you have just 10 dollars left.

He is intentional about us. Abba is calling us to come deeper unto Him, to that place where the cares of the world would fall away. Where we would live in joy every day because we are confident in His love and care.

“I will be your father, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.””
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭6:18‬ ‭GNB‬‬

I am leaning more into Father every day. It calms the anxious thoughts and I draw strength from Him. No matter what comes my way I can boldly say, Father has got me!

It is well with you

You are Loved 💛💙💜

This is so powerful, it reminds me of something that happened to me years ago. I was working in a foreign country and just like you, it was on a weekend and I was off… I literally had nothing in my house my bank card had been scammed so I had blocked it. I was in a desperate situation, it’s a foreign land. Who could help me. It’s so funny I decided to turn to God, so I picked up my Bible and as I opened it, I saw a ZAR100 note ($8USD) I had left in there don’t know when and my weekend was made! God is amazing. 😂
