What is your heart condition?

““Blessed [anticipating God’s presence, spiritually mature] are the pure in heart [those with integrity, moral courage, and godly character], for they will see God.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Heart Check- We know a healthy heart makes for a healthy life. A diseased heart makes for a diseased life. The state of the heart is what separates the religion from relationship. We can claim to worship and serve God, tell people about God and attend all the services but our heart is far from Him.

The Bible says the heart of man is desperately wicked. An untransformed heart is desperately wicked and not useful to God.

God can’t use us if we let evil fester in your heart.

if your heart is not pure before God your worship is in vain. Matt15:8-9

We may not realize it but the state of our heart is our biggest hindrance. There is a level of transformation required from us for every next level. But if we don’t get to that level, we remain in the wilderness.

When the heart is filled with impurities, we cannot see God when we seek Him. Those rooms we have locked away from Him. Carrying hate, unforgiveness, envy. hurt, ingratitude, murmur and complaining. dos contentment. The rooms we feel the Holy Spirit should stay away from. They are hampering a deeper intimacy with God.

“Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:13‬ ‭AMP‬‬

God understands you were hurt, but when are you going to let it go and let God in to heal you? The grudge you hold against yourself for the past mistakes, when will you let it go and forgive you? The malice and strife, backbiting and envy.

We can claim to be Christians but not act as Christians because the word of God have not transformed our heart. Who you are determines your behaviour. You cannot draw clean water from a bitter source neither can you draw bitter water from a clean source..

If our heart is filled with all these impurities, backbiting, discontentment, unforgiveness, envy, it will manifest in our words and actions. Anytime someone draws from us or we pour into people, these impurities are found.

And if we don’t let our heart be purified, we cannot see God. God doesn’t do dirty which is why He sent Jesus to offer us redemption and sanctification. He achieves this through the HolySpirit in us. But we must let the HolySpirit in those rooms we have locked away.

We don’t strive for purity by our power. Just seek Jesus the word and let it transform our hearts. The Spirit of God in us which is the Holy Spirit activates the word in us to bring about transformation. once the heart is right, every other thing aligns. The fruits taste good and nourish. Guard your heart. It is your essence. The centre from which, purpose, thoughts, desires, will and character flows out.

Today, just like the Psalmist said, Search my heart Lord and see if there be any wicked way in me. Anything that does not look like Christ in us must go. At what ever cost, let the Refiner’s fire refine and purify.

“Who may ascend onto the mountain of the Lord? And who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to what is false, Nor has sworn [oaths] deceitfully.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭24:3-4‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“If our hearts are not pure before God, our worship is in vain.” Thank you for bringing home this eternal truth again and again, Angel. The purity of our hearts (before God) must come first; only then can our worship we acceptable to God. Blessings!

The state of the heart is what separates religion from relationship – so well said Angel. However diligent we are in our daily disciplines if the posture of the heart is not right with God, then our worship is indeed in vain.
    Blessings to you 🌺💙
