Relying on God has to begin all over again every day as if nothing had yet been done.”
― C.S. Lewis,
Have you ever felt stuck in a phase? In between where you are now and where you want to be? In between starting a new project and seeing results? Or maybe you are in a period you don’t understand but can’t wait to move on from? The truth is Life is defined by times and seasons so requires a lot of waiting. Waiting To be married, to have kids, get a new job, marriage restoration, healing, answers etc. And oftentimes, while waiting, we cannot tell when our expectations would become a reality.
Mary, the mother of Jesus, was waiting for a fulfilment of the promise that her son would be the Messiah. She held onto a promise from God for 30 years.
That’s a long time to wait patiently for a promise to be fulfilled. So how did she do it? By keeping an account. We don’t know if she just made a point to remember a valuable memory or if she actually wrote it down Journal-style. Either way, Luke received it and documented it for us to read even thousands of years later. In Luke, scripture tells us that Mary treasured things and pondered them in her heart.
“But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.” Luke 2:19)
“Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart.” Luke 2:51
Mary held onto a promise from God for 30 years that her child would be the Messiah Luke 1:31-33
Daniel’s place of in-between was in the lion’s den. Even Jesus experienced it too. He lived the first 30years of His life in obscurity.
The in-between times in life can be frustrating and filled with uncertainty but it is also a period of rebirth and comes with valuable lessons we must sit to learn. Lessons that often result in maturity and growth that we would take with us into the future.
It is often the season we experience God most. It is when we cling to Him and He gets our undivided attention. It forces us to slow down, to listen, and to wait.
In this place, through the haze of our worry, anxiety and uncertainty, we turn back to the very thing we have always needed, Faith.
Now, Faith, is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. It is the lens through which we look at our situation. Because though the physical may not look like it, faith assures us of better days to come. We may not see it but we still believe.
We may not see the next step, but we are not afraid to put our foot forward. We might not know when the rewards of our efforts would come, but we keep showing up every day to sow into it.
We may not see the end of our pain now but faith is pushing yourself to get up and pick up the pieces. Piece by piece.
Sometimes it is not the amount of faith you have, but the power of the One that you have placed your faith in. Even if your faith is as little as a mustard seed, It is big enough for the Almighty to work with and He would carry you through the process.
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!”
Isaiah 26:3 NLT
We also have to be careful, the in-between can either lead us to a place of depression or Peace.
Discouraged people have left their spouse…….quit their job……Closed their business…..moved…..dumped school….
A lot of people leave the church during the in-between time…God has not come through like they thought He ought to……so they quit church.
Moses smote the rock in the in-between time. Elijah ran in the in-between time. Peter cussed during the in-between time. The wave goes up and comes down…when the wave is unstable “in-between time,” don’t make any rash decision.
We have to learn to accept now as it is—to live intentionally in the life we have now, instead of putting our heart on hold until circumstances improve or we get what we want.
Keep your heart on Jesus, focus on His love and He would lead you down the path of peace.
I want to encourage you, there are days it can get tough you may feel abandoned and just want to break down. Go ahead. Fall apart in His hands. He would hold you up and put you back together. But please don’t give up. God has never left your side. He fights for you every day. Don’t stop fighting for you!. Be Joyful! And be patient enough to wait.
It is well with you.
You are Loved💜💙💛

Don’t put your heart on hold during those in between times – gosh that really struck me. So true that we can grow so much during those times. God prepares us and grows us if we choose to turn to Him and lean on Him at those times.
Such a good word Angel

Abraham also waited for 25years before God’s promise came to be. He was 75 years when he received the promise of Isaac. And that promise came to be when he was 100years. God makes everything beautiful in its time.

He surely will. “You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].”
